The Artist: Alain Verspecht
The new series from MMM – the 9th
already! – is hereby officially launched under the name 'The
ART for ALS Series'. With a lot of gusto, we wish to
support the ALS Fonds Vlaanderen vzw of
Alain Verspecht.
Alain, who himself was stricken by ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, a degenerative disease) in 2007 and is paralyzed from the neck down, does not let himself be crippled and remains combative and has turned out to be a real AI artist in recent months! You can admire his artworks (and purchase them, of course!) on alainverspecht.com.
In consultation with Alain, we are selecting 4 of his artworks this year to adorn our labels. And together we will give a financial boost to the fund that conducts research into a medicine, because for every bottle sold, 5 EUR goes to the fund and that is then doubled by Mark & Manny personally.
So 500 EUR will be paid per release, which at the end of the year will yield a nice sum of 2.000 EUR for the researchers of KU Leuven.
